Romantic Bristol: Writing the City app for iPhone and iPad

The app offers a way into Bristol’s Romantic period history, through detailed site-specific content and combines this with present-day responses to that cultural heritage. Users will be able to explore the city of Bristol, discovering its history in the present and seeing the present through the lens of the past.

The Romantic Bristol: Writing the City app builds upon software developed for the Know Your Bristol on the Move project, which was funded by the Arts and Humanities Council. The software uses historic maps kindly provided by Bristol City Council. The content of the app was developed by the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Bristol and was funded by the World Universities Network.
